Letter to Families
OCHS Letter to Families 8-9-26
Dear OCHS Families,
As we begin a new week, our thoughts remain with our students, families, staff, and everyone impacted by the tragedy our school community experienced. The past several days have been difficult, but they have also reminded us of the strength and compassion of our students, staff, families, and community. We will continue to have counselors and additional support available for students and staff in the days ahead, and I encourage any student who is struggling or simply needs someone to talk with to reach out.
Tomorrow, Monday, we invite our students, staff, families, and community to wear orange and blue as a visible show of support for one another and for our school community. At the same time, we have decided to postpone our previously scheduled Spirit Week. There will be a time to celebrate our school spirit, but right now we believe it is important to give our students and staff the space they need to continue healing and supporting one another.
As we return to the routines of the school week, we will continue to lead with care, patience, and understanding while also providing the consistency and sense of normalcy that can be so important for our students. Thank you for the extraordinary compassion and support you have shown our school and one another.
With that, here are a few important updates and reminders for the week ahead:
